Nail Salons Shut Down Over Wage, Workers' Comp Issues

The Connecticut Labor Department issued 24 stop-work orders last week to nail salons throughout the state for alleged violations including lack of workers’ comp coverage and employee misclassification. The department visited 39 nail salons in eight towns to ensure businesses were in compliance with state wage laws.
