The Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation Board of Directors will discuss acquiring an actuarial analysis of a proposed bill that would modify benefits for occupational pneumoconiosis claims and create a new board to determine medical findings for those claims.
House Bill 510, which still remains with the Insurance Committee, defines pneumoconiosis as an interstitial lung disease, often called black lung or miner’s asthma, which is caused by inhaling mixed dusts.
