Gov. John Bel Edwards has signed into law a bill that fixes a mistake made earlier this year and restores a dedicated source of funding to the Office of Workers’ Compensation.
Edwards signed Senate Bill 20, by Neil Riser, R-Columbia, on Tuesday. The bill reverses a statutory change made with budget legislation passed earlier this year that converted the Office of Workers’ Compensation Fund to an account, which would allow all of the money deposited into it available for general expenses of the state.
