A Los Angeles Police Department officer is facing five felony charges for allegedly misrepresenting the extent of his job-related injuries, prosecutors announced Thursday.
Mario Jacinto, 40, “allegedly engaged in activities that were inconsistent with his work-related claims,” the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced. He also allegedly lied about his activities during a deposition.
Jacinto faces felony counts of workers’ compensation fraud and one felony count of attempted perjury under oath.
