OSHA Cites Aircraft Manufacturer for Carcinogen Exposure

The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration has cited aircraft manufacturer Spirit Aerosystems Inc. in Wichita for exposing employees to hexavalent chromium, a known carcinogen. Spirit Aerosystems faces proposed penalties totaling $194,006 for one willful and five serious violations. The company has 15 business days to contest the citations, which OSHA issued on Jan. 19.
