Wu Orders More Briefs, Sets Hearing in Lien Stay Challenge for Oct. 19

U.S. District Court Judge George H. Wu did not issue a decision on whether to grant an injunction that would prohibit the Division of Workers’ Compensation from staying liens filed by or on behalf of providers charged with fraud, and instead ordered more briefing. Wu was expected to issue his decision in Vanguard Medical Management Billing v. Christine Baker during a hearing Thursday, but a docket entry from the proceedings posted to the court’s website Monday shows the decision will have to wait until at least Oct. 19, when the parties return to Wu's Los Angeles courtroom...
