Workers injured after July 14 will see higher maximum weekly indemnity benefits, thanks to House Bill 2, the much-debated law that brought major changes to Kentucky's workers' compensation system.
While the bill was criticized by labor and claimants' advocates for limiting the duration of medical benefits and making it more difficult to qualify for black-lung benefits, it also raised the maximum benefits by about $60 a week.
