The California Division of Workers’ Compensation has rescheduled all lien conferences set for the first two months of 2013 to allow for time to implement an electronic payment system to collect filing fees.Senate Bill 863 mandates a $150 filing fee for all liens filed after Jan. 1 and a $100 activation fee before existing liens can be heard at a trial or conference.The division hopes to have the final collection system in place by Jan. 1 and will use a temporary electronic payment system if necessary, according to spokesman Dean Fryer.“As a prudent precaution, we are resetting the ...
