The Kansas Department of Labor reported the state’s private employers recorded an estimated 46,800 nonfatal workplace injuries and illnesses in calendar year 2006, slightly more than 128 a day.A similar survey for 2005 showed 68,800 injuries, department spokeswoman Megan Ingmire told WorkCompCentral Wednesday.However, Ingmire cautioned, the results should not be relied on "for showing any trends," since they are based on a random survey.
