The former Los Angeles County sheriff's deputy accused of lying about being shot by a sniper last year was charged with two counts of workers' compensation insurance fraud relating to a claim he filed after the incident.
The Sheriff's Department said in a statement that Angel R. Reinosa was arrested Thursday following a traffic stop in Sylmar on a warrant charging him with two counts of insurance fraud and one count of filing a false police report.
