A House bill that would require subcontractors to show proof of workers’ compensation coverage is headed for a third reading in the Senate.
HB675, by Rep. Paula Davis, R-Baton Rouge, would require subcontractors to show proof of coverage even if the contractor to whom they report does not request the information.
The subcontractors would be required to provide their licenses or registration numbers, classification and evidence of insurance to the contracting party for whom the work is to be performed.
