A utility construction company in Daytona Beach, Florida, has received federal safety citations for allegedly allowing employees to work in a trench without cave-in protection.
P&S Paving Inc. is facing proposed penalties of $138,927 from the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration. OSHA issued citations on May 16 for two serious and one willful violation.
OSHA inspected a Daytona Beach work site last month and found employees working in a 7-foot-deep trench without a system in place to prevent collapse, resulting in the willful citation.
