Trench Hazards Prompt $190K in Penalties for Construction Company

A pipe-laying company in Texas that was cited four times last year for failing to protect employees from trench collapse hazards is facing additional trench-related citations from the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration. El Paso Underground Construction faces proposed penalties of $190,642 in connection with citations OSHA issued on Monday. OSHA has also placed the company in its Severe Violator Enforcement Program.
