A Texas landscaping business has pleaded guilty to misrepresenting its payroll so that it could reduce the cost of workers’ compensation premiums, the Division of Workers’ Compensation announced.
Jammers Groundscapes, of Pflugerville, entered the guilty plea in a Travis County District Court on March 21. It was ordered to pay Texas Mutual Insurance Co. $400,000 in restitution. The Travis County district attorney launched the investigation based on a referral by Texas Mutual.
