Medical payments for indemnity claims declined steadily since passage of 2012 reforms but ticked up 1.9% from accident year 2014 to 2015, the California Workers’ Compensation Institute said Friday.
CWCI said it is too soon to know if the increase was an anomaly or a change in trend. The latest data shows that average medical payments at 24, 36, 48 and 60 months post-injury continue to decline, and results vary considerably by region and industry.
