Department of Labor Seeks Damages for Employee Allegedly Fired for Filing Safety Complaint

The U.S. Department of Labor has filed a lawsuit against a Sandpoint, Idaho, gas station seeking damages on behalf of an employee it alleges the station's owner fired for filing a safety complaint against the business. Sydney Oskoui, owner of the Sandpoint Gas 'n' Go and Lube Center, allegedly fired a mechanic working for him after a safety complaint the employee filed resulted in an inspection, citations and fines from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, according to a Tuesday press release.
