Gov. John Hickenlooper signed into law a bill creating a reciprocal coverage exemption for businesses that have people working on a temporary basis in another state.
House Bill 1308, by Rep. Tracy Kraft-Tharp, D- Jefferson, allows employers from neighboring states to use their workers’ compensation policies to cover people temporarily assigned to work in Colorado, if those states allow Colorado employers to use Colorado policies to cover workers temporarily within their jurisdiction.
Hickenlooper, a Democrat, signed the bill Monday.
