Sing Sing Officer Charged With Faking Medical Reports to Get Benefits

A correctional officer at the Sing Sing Correctional Facility has been charged with submitting false medical records in order to obtain workers' compensation benefits. Darquis Wright, 39, was arrested and charged Tuesday with nine counts of offering a false document, according to a news release from the New York State Inspector General's office. Wright claimed work injuries to his shoulder, back, hand and knee in 2018 and 2019, and allegedly submitted fraudulent medical reports that he was unable to work.
