A Monterey County contractor was sentenced to two years in prison for taking money from an elderly couple and failing to complete the project they hired him to do, and for failing to provide workers’ compensation coverage for his workers.
Salomon Calderon Medina of Greenfield pleaded guilty last month to a felony burglary charge, and misdemeanor charges of failing to provide coverage and contracting without a license, the Monterey County District Attorney’s Office said. Judge Carrie Panetta also sentenced him to 180 days in jail for the misdemeanor charges.
