Delayed Fee Schedule Update Postpones Doctor Raises

Changes to the Official Medical Fee Schedule that are expected to increase reimbursement to some medical providers by $21.7 million annually are on hold while the California Division of Workers' Compensation waits for the federal government to correct technical errors in Medicare rates. As mandated by Senate Bill 863, the DWC effective Jan. 1, 2014, adopted a fee schedule based on Medicare's Resource-Based Relative Value Scale.
