Physician Payments Lower Than in Region, Country

North Carolina’s physician payments as a percentage of Medicare reimbursements were lower than for the region and nationally last year, a National Council on Compensation Insurance study shows. The average percentage of Medicare schedule reimbursement amounts for physicians in service year 2016 were: Surgery: 158% in North Carolina, 211% in the region and 228% countrywide.
