OSHA Slaps Drain Company With $1.4 Million Fine Following Deadly Trench Collapse

The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration has issued citations for 18 safety violations, and proposed fines of $1.47 million against a Massachusetts drain company following the deaths of two workers in a trench collapse. Atlantic Drain Service Co. Inc. and its owner, Kevin Otto, also were indicted by a Suffolk County grand jury in February on two counts of manslaughter and other charges in connection with the deaths, the Department of Labor said in a news release on Wednesday.
