Just over 46,000 Texans spent time away from work due to occupational injuries and illnesses in 2015, down 12.3% from the previous year, according to a Texas Department of Insurance report.
Workers spent a median of seven days away from work last year, down from eight in 2014.
Workers in the transportation, manufacturing, health care, hospitality and construction industries were most prone to injuries requiring time away from work. Transportation cases accounted for 24% of the total number of cases last year.
