National Labor Relations Board Files Complaint Against Tesla

Tuesday, September 5, 2017 | 0

The National Labor Relations Board has filed a complaint against electric car manufacturer Tesla, accusing it of violating workers' rights by forcing them to sign a  confidentiality agreement that threatening them with termination or criminal charges if they spoke to the media about their working conditions.

Tesla must respond to the charges by Sept. 14. Reuters reported that the company has denied the allegations, saying in a statement that they "are entirely without merit."

The NLRB, the federal agency in charge of enforcing labor law, has scheduled a hearing on the complaint for Nov. 14 before an administrative law judge in Oakland.

The complaints were filed by three employees and the United Auto Workers union.
