Health care facilities that adhere to guidelines for safe patient handling are seeing substantially lower workers’ comp claims costs, according to a new report from Aon.
Facilities that use the American Nurses Association’s guidelines for Safe Patient Handling and Mobility have an average claim cost of $6,000, compared to $7,800 for other systems, Aon said in its Health Care Workers’ Compensation Barometer, released this month.
