New York authorities arrested a state correctional officer on Friday on charges that he submitted dozens of forged medical records so that he could avoid working but receive full pay, the state Inspector General’s Office said.
Kristopher Cowan, 29, of Valatie, was charged with grand larceny in the third degree and 34 counts of offering a false instrument for filing in the first degree, and criminal possession of a forged instrument in the second degree, all felonies.
