The Iowa Supreme Court on Friday ruled that an unsuccessful candidate for a deputy workers’ compensation commissioner position could not assert a viable age-discrimination claim against Iowa Workforce Development because he waited too long to file with the Civil Rights Commission.
Although the court said the 300-day filing deadline can be extended when equity requires, the court unanimously concluded there was no basis to excuse Marlon Mormann’s delay.
