Municipal Judge Who Pocketed Comp Settlement Resigns Post

A New Mexico judge who was suspended from the bench after he was convicted of misappropriating a client's workers' compensation settlement funds has agreed to resign his post to avoid further discipline, the Albuquerque Journal reported Wednesday. Randall Royball, executive director of the Judicial Standards Commission, told the newspaper that Luis Quintana agreed to resign his post as a municipal judge in Corrales in exchange for the commission discontinuing a formal investigation into his conduct. Quintana had refused to resign after the state Supreme Court suspended him without pay...
