The Kentucky Attorney General’s Office has reached a $24 million settlement with Purdue Pharma over allegations that the drug company falsely marketed OxyContin, misrepresenting or concealing the opioid’s highly addictive nature.
Under the agreement, Kentucky will receive a payment of $12 million within 30 days, including $1.5 million that will be paid as restitution to the state Medicaid agency.
