Gov. Roy Cooper has appointed Myra L. Griffin, a 13-year deputy commissioner, as a full commissioner on the North Carolina Industrial Commission.
Griffin will complete the unexpired term of former Commissioner Linda Cheatham but will continue to hear cases as a deputy pending her confirmation by the General Assembly.
She previously was a special deputy commissioner and law clerk at the commission, a press release states.
