The U.S. Department of Labor said a chain of Southern California residential care facilities that misclassified employees as business partners owes 17 workers a combined $45,000 in back wages and $150,000 for overtime violations.
Investigators from the department's Wage and Hour Division found Agape Cottage Care Partners misclassified workers at six locations in Placentia, Fullerton and Santa Ana, resulting in minimum wage and overtime violations.
