Commissioner Approves 2.3% Increase Effective Jan. 1

Iowa Commissioner of Insurance Susan Voss has issued an order approving an overall 2.3% rate increase for workers' compensation insurance effective Jan 1, 2010.Voss said that the National Council on Compensation Insurance (NCCI) submitted the proposed rate filing on Aug. 12.Notice of the filing was published on the Iowa Insurance Division website on Aug. 21.No request for a hearing on the rate filing was received, Voss said.Voss said that “based on an independent review of the NCCI proposal,” she found that the proposed rates were not excessive, inadequate or unfairly discrimin...
