Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal has vetoed legislation that would have allowed workers' compensation benefits for firefighters who contract cancer if medical evidence shows that the disease was caused from workplace exposure.
Occupational diseases are not compensable in Georgia's workers' compensation system if they are "ordinary diseases of life." House Bill 216 by Rep.
