Court Revives Former Comp Judge's Claims for Unpaid Wages

A Louisiana appellate court has revived a former comp judge’s claim that the Louisiana Workforce Commission short-changed him on his wages when he left his job in December 2015. Carey Holliday asserted he was owed $5,868.34 for the “premium pay” paid to district judges for the performance of administrative duties. He claims the LWC failed to respond to his demand for payment, which led him to file suit against the agency for violation of the Louisiana Wage Payment Act.
