California’s State Compensation Insurance Fund is holding a free training class on active- shooter safety in Eureka on Oct. 27.
Eureka Police Capt. Brian Stephens will provide information and tips on how to stay safe in active-shooter situations. A dispatch officer will also offer advice about how to report an ongoing incident.
State Fund says attendees will learn how to prepare for active-shooter situations and how to respond when an active shooter is in the area. The sessions will also explain how police respond after receiving calls about active shooters.
