Former California state senator Ron Calderon could be walking out of federal prison next year thanks to a 2007 law intended to reduce recidivism.
U.S. District Judge Christina Snyder on Friday signed an order recommending the U.S. Bureau of Prisons allow Calderon to benefit from the Second Chance Act of 2007 “at the earliest appropriate time by placing Mr. Calderon in a community correctional facility followed by home confinement.”
