Taxi Co. Owner Indicted for Alleged Failure to Carry Comp Insurance

Monday, September 11, 2017 | 0

A Rockland County grand jury has indicted a taxi company owner on charges of failing to secure workers' compensation insurance, Mid-Hudson News Network reports.

Angel Henriquez, of Garnerville, allegedly did not buy workers' compensation and unemployment insurance policies for A-One Transportation and Nyack Taxi.

Henriquez was also charged with underreporting his income, as were two of his employees and his wife. All four were indicted on those charges and face up to seven years in prison.

The Henriquezes' failure to accurately report their income resulted in their receiving $25,000 in Medicaid benefits to which they were not entitled, authorities said.
