NCCI: Medical Costs Play Greater Role in State's Comp System

Medical benefits account for 75% of workers' compensation claims costs in Alabama, outpacing the 58% national average, reports the National Council on Compensation Insurance (NCCI).As in other states analyzed by the Boca Raton, Fla.-based rate maker, medical costs continued to rise faster than the medical index for inflation.
