A series of recent workplace falls that have killed or injured five Philadelphia-area workers has triggered an OSHA warning for construction companies to ensure employees have and use proper equipment.
The latest incident occurred July 7 when 37-year-old roofer Roy Chacon died after he fell 25 feet to the ground at a Haverford worksite. His death was the latest of five incidents since June 13 that resulted in the death or injury of workers without proper fall protection, the agency said.
