N.J. Carpenter Admits Stealing Benefits

A carpenter who worked for the Scotch Plains, N.J.,  Board of Education has pleaded guilty to charges that he stole more than $4,500 from the state workers' compensation insurance fund, state Attorney General Anne Milgram announced.In a joint press release issued with Gregory A. Paw, director of the New Jersey Criminal Justice Division, Milgram said Michael Belshaw, 41, of Farmingdale, N.J., pleaded guilty to a charge of third-degree insurance fraud.Belshaw admitting that he submitted a false statement to Bergen Risk Managers between Jan. 13 and March 9, 2006.
