The chairman of the California Assembly Insurance Committee has resurrected his request for an audit of systems to prevent, detect and prosecute fraud in the state’s workers’ compensation system.
Meanwhile, the Department of Industrial Relations added three new names to the list of providers who have been suspended from participating in the comp system following fraud convictions, including a chiropractor who pleaded guilty to her role in an alleged conspiracy involving six Southern California medical clinics owned or operated by Peyman Heidary.
