Oregon Gov. Kate Brown has created a task force of medical experts and government officials charged with identifying and implementing efforts to reduce abuse and misuse of opioids in the state.
The task force will focus on improving access to effective treatment and eliminating barriers to obtaining and administering drugs for opioid overdose, the governor’s office said in a statement. The group will also identify ways for people to participate in drug court in lieu of incarceration.
