Court Upholds Award to Painter for Accident That Employer Denied Having Occurred

A New York appellate court upheld an award of benefits to a painter for his injuries from a fall that his employer denied having happened. Case: Matter of Pilacik v. Jacsa, No. 524470, 05/24/2018, published. Facts: Antoni Pilacik worked as a painter for Jasca LLC. While at work in May 2014, he allegedly fell off of a 7-foot scaffolding, striking his head on the ground. According to Pilacik, he told Jasca’s owner about his fall the day that it happened, and the owner sent him home.
