Arch Capital to Build Division HQ in Raleigh

Arch Capital, a provider of reinsurance and excess workers' compensation insurance, will locate its new division headquarters in Raleigh, North Carolina, the state's insurance commissioner announced.

Commissioner Mike Causey said the company picked Wake County over Atlanta for its hub. 

Arch, with corporate headquarters in Bermuda, will invest about $13 million in the operations, producing about 365 jobs. The company already employs some 575 people in the state, Causey said.

Formerly known as Wexford, Arch Insurance Excess Workers' Compensation covers self-insured employers, including hospitals, municipalities, school districts, universities and some private industry, the company said.
