Ohio regulators have released a draft of proposed rules that would set up reimbursement for behavioral assessments for workers who are slow in returning to work.
An injured worker would be eligible for a health and behavior assessment and intervention (HBAI) if the primary physician determines that the worker is not progressing in injury recovery, and that delay appears to be due to behavioral barriers, the rule states.
The expanded service is required by state law, according to an analysis done for the Bureau of Workers' Compensation.
