A bill that would require the state Industrial Commission to notify all the lawyers who represented an injured worker when it approves attorney fees is scheduled for a vote on the Senate floor today.
House Bill 26, by Rep. Sam Watford, R-Davidson, states: “If a dispute arises between an employee’s current and past attorney or attorneys regarding the division of a fee as approved by the commission pursuant to this section, the commission shall hear any dispute after the commission has approved the settlement agreement.
