The New York Senate confirmed Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s nomination of Maria Vullo as the new superintendent of the New York State Department of Financial Services last week, the department announced in a press release.
Vullo will regulate more than 1,500 insurance companies, and roughly 1,600 banks and other financial institutions, the department said.
Vullo has been the department’s acting superintendent since February.
