Uninsured Employer Bill Survives 'Kill Committee'

A Colorado Senate committee usually known as the place where bills are sent to die passed a measure on Thursday that would create an uninsured employer fund and give the Division of Workers’ Compensation discretion to negotiate penalties levied on businesses illegally operating without coverage. The Senate State, Veterans & Military Affairs Committee voted 3-2 to pass House Bill 1119, by Rep. Tracy Kraft-Tharp, D-Jefferson.
