Senate Labor Committee to Hear Testimony on Comp Bills

The state Senate Committee on Labor and Industrial Relations will hear testimony today on bills that would expand the workers’ compensation exemption for corporate officers in California and require a study of alternative ways to pay medical providers. Senate Bill 189, by Sen. Steven Bradford, D-Gardena, would lower the threshold used to determine if an officer or member of a company’s board can be exempted from work comp.
