Division Posts Proposed Electronic Filing Rules

The Iowa Workers’ Compensation Division gave notice Wednesday of proposed rules that will lay the groundwork for mandatory use of a "workers’ compensation electronic system" to submit claims data and file petitions, forms and other documents. The proposed new rule 876 would require parties to use the WCES in contested claims, but lays out a process for the division to grant exceptions for good cause, according to the notice posted in Wednesday’s Administrative Bulletin.
